A good read about Lean
In times of high uncertainty and complexity we once again get reminded of that we can’t know for sure in advance. In this environment that is changing rapidly we need to have a scientific approach.
Lean has been around for decades as a way of thinking and acting with a scientific mindset encouraging us to do experiments in small batches.
An excellent introduction to Lean and lean thinking is a short but
condensed book called ”Lean: Manage work as a flow system, 2nd Edition” by France Bergeron and Joanne Gaudet. The book guides the reader from the origin at Toyota and TPS to the psychological concept of flow described by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.
The book is an excellent start if you are new to Lean but it is also a good read for the more experienced ones as it remindes the reader of the core in Lean and the connection between the process and the human being.
It is s a brilliant and easy introduction to Lean. I highly recommend it!
